Date: January 27, 2023

Author: Tracey Arts, AALP Class 19 Participant

Our fifth day in Athens, AALP Class 19 headed to Nafplio stopping at Corinth Canal to see the man made structure.  It is a sight to see.  Our next stop just as impressive.  Who needs a microphone when you’re in the best preserved theatre in Greece.

AALP Class 19 got to try out the acoustics of Epidaurus ancient theatre.  The class then took the tour inside to the museum to learn more about the god of healing, Asclepius, ancient medical tools and more.  The next leg of our trip Class 19 went to Melas - Epidaurus Olive Oil Domain where we learned the intricate details of making olive oil.  It’s always interesting to see the equipment that is involved from start to finish in the process of making the finished product.  Our day was not over as we continued to Epidavros Aloe Company.   AALP participants continued to gain a broader knowledge of the agricultural sector on a global aspect, learning about this variety of aloe plant.  The Epidavros Aloe company makes a line of cosmetics that are shipped internationally. They also produce a drinkable product that is 95% aloe.  This was a day filled with history, site seeing, culinary experiences, and experiencing of products.
