The Rural Change Makers Program is a FREE and transformative 12-month leadership experience for emerging leaders (ages 18–35) who are ready to create positive change in their lives and rural communities. Up to 40 emerging leaders from throughout Ontario are selected to participate in a dynamic blend of virtual learning labs, in-person gatherings, and real-world skill application that turn ideas into impact. Join an upcoming information session to learn more about the program. Applications for the next cohort open in April 1st, 2026.

The Rural Ontario Institute's annual general meeting is happening Friday, June 19, 2026, from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM, followed by lunch.

For 16 years, we’ve been committed to developing leaders, informing decision-makers, and strengthening connections across rural and northern Ontario. Join the ROI board, staff, sponsors, donors, and community partners as we celebrate the achievements of the past year, share our vision for the future, and recognize the leaders who helped us get to where we are today.
