AALP Class 19's International Study Tour: Day 4 in Athens

Date: January 26, 2023

Author: Tracey Arts, AALP Class 19 Participant

AALP Class 19’s fourth day in Athens did not disappoint.

The first stop of the day brought us to Dionyssos Marble Quarry, which is a family company dating back to 1890.  The exporting of Greek marble is approx 70% of the total production.  Watching the diamond wire that is used to cut through the marble is pretty impressive.

Continuing on our day, Class 19 arrived at Delta Dairy company. Delta Dairy is a complete processing facility, buying directly from the dairy producer and processing to an end product of milk or yogurt.  This facility follows strict protocols to keep the product safe and healthy for their consumers.  Being able to follow the product through the facility and see the process was an opportunity I am thankful I could be a part of.  Delta Dairy has incorporated not only the pasteurization side of this process but also utilized making their own bottles for milk.
